|Contract Value: $9,000,000
Duration: In Progress
NER was chosen by Umass Medical Center and Bovis Lend Lease to be the Restoration Contractor on this monumental Medical Center in Worcester. With a contract to date of over $9 Million Dollars and a completion date in 2006, this subcontract is more sizable than some of the General Contracts we have completed over the years. Built in 1971, and years of being beaten by the weather, the existing granite facade was failing and was becoming unstable. This project consists of a complete replacement of the granite facade and window system. NER is removing the granite slabs from the building exterior and installing new limestone as well as a new Air Vapor Barrier System. There is over 80,000SF of failed granite panels on this project being replaced with new Limestone. Due to the size of this project, NER had to investigate and use new equipment in order to keep the tight schedule as well as handle the weight of these panels. NER was the first in the NorthEast to use a Max Climer 5700 from Beta Max. This system allowed our men to get into tight spaces while handling heavy loads. This has streamlined the manhours necessary to complete this project.
